Drone Attack in Southern Sudan Kills 17, Including Schoolgirls
In Southern Sudan, a deadly drone attack killed at least 17 people, including school girls. The attack was attributed to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who targeted a secondary school and a health centre in the village, Shukeiri. According to doctors and the local network, the drone attack claimed the lives of two teachers and a healthcare worker, while some girls were seriously injured. The ongoing civilian war in Sudan claimed more than 40,000 lives and left hundreds of thousands homeless. As the conflict intensifies across regions like White Nile and Darfur, humanitarian organizations warn of unprecedented ‘terror against children’ and a displacement crisis that has left millions in desperate need of aid.
